Stress, mental health, low immunity, poor physical fitness, and pain management have some people worried. However, all these can be taken care of by adhering to proper massage therapy. We have investigated some unique and trending techniques that you should try out.

ABHYANGA MASSAGE

An abhyanga is a technique we achieve when we apply warm oil to the entire body, from the scalp to the soles of your feet. It is the most popular in Ayurveda, a traditional system of medicine from India. Abhyanga focuses on maintaining health through natural practices like massage and what you eat. It promotes overall health and well-being.

ASHIATSU

Ashiatsu, known as “foot pressure”. It is a barefoot massage technique that requires the therapist to use their feet instead of their hands to perform the technique. The therapist will have you lie face down on a table. The therapist will use ropes, bars, stools, or benches to balance themselves above the client. Then the therapist will use their feet to give strokes across your body. The gravity and pressure allow the therapist to provide deep, long strokes over the body. This helps relieve pain from chronic soft-tissue damage and provides deep relaxation.

JAVANESSE MASSAGE

Traditional Javanese is an old technique. That is classified as deep tissue therapy due to the highly intense strokes involved. A therapist trained in Javanese knows how to use all parts of the hand when massaging a patient.
In Javanese massage, every part of the hand, including the knuckles, is used to massage the body to help relieve muscle and joint pain. It is done using oils that help reduce friction and make for a more comfortable experience for you.

LOMI LOMI

Lomi Lomi is a traditional Hawaiian technique that combines massage techniques, nut oils, breathing, and dance to restore your energy and soothe your body. It is also known as the “loving hands technique”. This technique works gently yet deeply into the muscles with flowing strokes, allowing you to relax and give in to the nurturing touch.
This traditional Hawaiian technique helps release tension, assist blood and lymph flow, and remove toxins with broad pressure from the therapist’s two hands, forearm, and elbow.

WATSU

Watsu is a very gentle form of therapeutic massage performed in warm water that incorporates Zen Shiatsu massage techniques, such as joint mobilization and movements that stretch muscles.
It helps to relieve pain, relax muscles, and reduce stress.

As time goes by, massage therapy techniques will continue to evolve and incorporate new modalities that will yield remarkable positive results to fulfill your desires.
